Let’s Go Hiking!
Are you looking for a healthy activity?
Do you enjoy nature?
Do you like a challenge?
The Waushara County Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance and the Wautoma Public Library will be hosting a presentation by local resident and long distance hiker Lyle Buettner on Sunday March 3rd at 2pm at the library.
A veteran hiker, Lyle will share his adventures hiking over 1700 miles on our nation’s most famous hiking trail, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. His enthusiasm and tested experience brings the joys and the trials of exploring nature to life and will be sure to generate lively discussion. In addition there will be a presentation on Wisconsin’s hiking opportunities including our own Ice Age Trail. The Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a 1,000 mile footpath that highlights the unique and beautiful landscape formations created by the glacial melt that occurred more than 12,000 years ago. It is free and open to the public to enjoy and resides entirely in Wisconsin. To learn more, join us. All are welcome to attend.
The presentation will be from 2-3pm in the east meeting room (use east entrance as main entrance will be closed) of the library located at 410 West Main Street, Wautoma. For more information please contact the library at 920-787-2988. Sign up is encouraged but not required.
