Dream Big Read!
This summer's theme, Dream Big-Read! is about all things nocturnal: dreams, stars and planets, bats, owls, spooky stories, and more. The programs are free and open to children of all abilities.
As in past years, the reading incentive program is geared for children between 4-12 years of age. But all family members are welcome and encouraged to attend our special performances. The incentive program awards prizes for the time spent reading. Details on this will be available at the Library and kits will be handed out anytime during the week of June 4th or at the first performance.
Dream Big Storytelling

Storytielling for all ages. Many folktales tell of the little guy who dreams big and never gives up, such as The Little Rooster and Turkish Sultan. Sometimes, the big dreaming is selfish and the little guy gets too big for his britches as in the Big Wide Mouthed Toad Frog. Kathy's programe will applaud the success and poke a bit of fun at the prideful while the audience takes away their own lesson from each story. Kathy is a middle school media specialist and a former children's librarian. She performs a variety of folktales and interactive shorts, sometimes using traditional props or puppets.
Songs & Stories for All Ages
Casey and Greg
Thursday June 21 3pm
Join us for an electric blend of original songs and stories for youth and families. Casey and Greg are known for their vocal harmonies, professionalism, and enthusiastically involving the audience. They are able to take requests and will often 'create' songs right on the spot! Expect to believe in yourself as Casey and Greg encourage you to 'dream big' through song and story.
Nocturnal Nature
The Waushara Gardeners

Lying awake int the sleeping garden..what plants thrive and bloom at night? What creatures flock and flutter in the dark? Plant a Moonflower, learn about moths and other nocturnal nature during this enchanting program presented by the Waushara Gardeners. Sign-up is required for planning of materials.
Dreaming Magician Ryan Radke

Prepare yourself for wonder and amazement as Ryan Radke's slight of hand makes question whether you are awake or dreaming. Magic is fun for all ages and certain to get your critical thinking skills and imagination sparked.
StarLab

Paul Kinzer author of "Star Gazing Basics"
Be transported on a journey through the night sky as Paul Kinzer leads groups of 30 to 35 youths through his star lab. The lab is "an opaque inflatable dome with an entrance tunnel, 18 by 21 feet across and 11 feet high. In the center of the dome, a projector — with interchangeable cylindrical charts — projects a rotating image onto the inner surface of the dome. It can display more than a thousand stars and the Moon, for any time of any day of the year. It can also show the appearance of the sky from anywhere between the equator and the North Pole. Other cylinders display, among other things, constellation outlines, both modern and ancient. A 35mm slide projector is also used to project space images — some direct from NASA — of the Earth, Moon, planets, the Milky Way, and various deep-space objects." This grand finale of the summer program will be held at the World War II Museum right next door to the library. Sign up will be required for either the 2:30 or the 4pm tour.
