Spring Events at the Wautoma Public Library

There are wonderful programs, for all ages, being offered this April at the Wautoma Public Library.  For 1st- 5th grades our annual Lego Club returns (younger children welcome with guardian).  Join us every Thursday at 4:15 to make awesome structures and meet new friends.  Each week a new theme or challenge will be introduced.  One of our challenges will involve our new robot Dash.  Drop-ins are welcome, but sign up is encouraged for planning purposes.

For adults, Paint Night led by Traveling Easel, returns on Thursday April 13th at 6pm.  Sign up is a must as there will be a $30 fee for materials and class size is limited.  You will spend two hours creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece—with snacks nearby—as a local artist, Linda Roberts, shows you how to put your creative imagination on canvas.  No experience is required.  Just have fun and express yourself.

For those who love to cook or simply eat, Linda Welty is back with a new class, Just Desserts!  This free (donations appreciated, but not necessary) class will take place on Tuesday April 25th at 5:30pm.   The following decadent recipes will be demonstrated and available for tasting:  Dangerously Easy Lemon Fingers, Cream Puff Cake, Chocolate Toffee Ice Box Dessert, and Pumpkin Cake Roll.

To sign up for any of these activities please call the library at 787-2988 or stop in.  If you do stop in, don’t miss out on the free seeds we are offering through our seed saving library.  Also, please visit the teen section of the library and ask Alexa, our Echo Dot, a few questions or play streaming music.  Or consider, checking out a poetry book in honor of National Poetry Month.   National Library Week also falls in April on the 9th-15th.  To celebrate, during that week only, the Wautoma library will forgive $2 off your overdue fines for every item you check out and issue free replacement library cards with proper id shown.  It’s a perfect time to visit the library and enjoy all the wonderful services we have to offer from books, movies, music, e-readers, public wi-fi, computers, fax, reference, magazines, color copies, and so much more.
